Abstract
In the original paper, the first measurements of off-diagonal cumulants of net-charge, net-proton (a proxy for the net-baryon), and net-kaon (a proxy for the net-strangeness) were reported using the first phase of beam energy scan (BES-I) data from the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The second-order mixed-cumulant ratios between net-proton and net-kaon ( Cp,k=s1,1p,k/s2k) at different collision energies ( vsNN = 7.7–200 GeV) show a good agreement with various model predictions. However, the mixed cumulants between net-charge and net-proton ( CQ,p=s1,1Q,p/s2p), as well as the mixed cumulants between net-charge and net-kaon ( CQ,k=s1,1Q,k/s2k), showed significant deviations from the model predictions. An increasing trend of these ratios as a function of collision energy in 0–5% central events was reported. Triggered by the theory papers [1], we realized that the excess correlations in s1,1Q,p and s1,1Q,k arise due to an artifact of assuming Q and p (or k) to be mutually exclusive variables while correcting for the particle reconstruction efficiency effects. In this erratum, we address this issue. We now present the new observables s1,1p,k, and s1,1p,p that avoid the above assumption. The previously observed increasing trend with energy in s1,1Q,k, and s1,1Q,p is no longer seen in the new observables of s1,1p,k, and s1,1p,p. In the original paper, the efficiency correction for s1,1p,k, s1,1Q,p, and s1,1Q,k was performed using the binomial efficiency correction method [2,3] assuming net-charge, net-proton, and net-kaon are mutually exclusive variables. In that case, the expression for the efficiency correction formula for s1,1Q,p is (Formula Presented) (Figure Presented).We thank V. Vovchenko and V.
