Abstract
1. Understand normal anatomy of the anus and rectum. 2. Recognize some of the most common benign pediatric disorders of the anus such as anal fissures, hemorrhoids, rectal prolapse, abscess, juvenile polyps, dyssynergic defecation, congenital perianal masses, anorectal malformations, etc. 3. Be able to differentiate disorders that often present with common complaints. 4. Be able to describe when surgery is indicated and what medical therapies are available. 5.
