Abstract
This chapter introduces and compares complexes and chelates generally encountered in pharmacy with some specific examples. These complexes and chelates are essential for modulating the physicochemical and pharmacokinetic action of drugs along with homeostasis and detoxification of endogenous toxins. Therefore, the nonspecific binding of drugs with plasma proteins has been discussed in detail with some interesting case examples.
