Abstract
Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair offers significant advantages in the management of uncomplicated hernia, recurrent hernia or bilateral hernias. It leads to lower incidence of wound infection and hematoma formation. Furthermore, it is associated with less postoperative pain, shorter hospital stay and early resumption of normal daily activities and work. This chapter reviews both the transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) and totally extraperitoneal (TEP) repair techniques.
