Abstract
[Traylor]'s study of the expansion of Baptists into the Kentucky frontier provides a detailed analysis of how this evangelical movement became the majoritarian Christian expression in this state. Moreover, though necessarily focused on one region and grounded in the primary sources of Baptists in that region, Born of Water and Spirit documents patterns of growth that explain Baptist expansion in other southern regions.
