Abstract
[VanderKam]'s first edition (CH, Dec'94, 32-2086) was widely acclaimed as an outstanding introduction to this subject. With this careful revision and thorough update, VanderKam (Univ. of Notre Dame) assures that his work will continue to occupy a central spot in Dead Sea Scrolls studies. Overall, he has followed the same format that worked so well in the first edition. He is scrupulously fair in his presentation and evaluation of myriad views.
