Abstract
The understanding of implementation issues surrounding electronic data interchange (EDI) is of concern to upper and middle management and is grounded on the extent of the breadth and depth of the EDI system being contemplated. Cost-benefit analysis necessarily involves the appreciation of what it takes to set up an EDI network of a specific scope and a reasonable telescoping of expected benefits after investments have been made in expensive resources. This paper discusses the construct of level of EDI implementation to assist executives in undertaking this type of assessment. This study seeks to determine if EDI success measures and criticality of EDI implementation factors correlate or vary in a positive direction with the level of EDI implementation.
