Abstract
A high speed data acquisition system was used to record events from sulphur-nucleus collisions at 200 GeV/c per nucleon generated by the NA36 experiment. A cost effective system was designed to provide high data throughput with event readout in Fastbus, event building in VME and data storage on IBM 3480 cartridges. The system was able to record in excess to 10 Mbytes of data per spill.
