Abstract
In Spring 2016, the College of Professional Studies had its first offering of its own Magis Core Critical Issues in Human Inquiry course: Privilege, Power, and Difference (CPS 170). In this 8-week online course, adult learners specifically dealt with White Privilege in the class content and then did a project to apply another from of privilege (e.g., heterosexual privilege, class privilege, age privilege, male privilege, etc.). The instructors encountered at least three responses from students in this class: outright resistance (including dropping to wait for a course designed for an 18-year old)... a tentative willingness to learn...and a total embrace of recognizing privilege. Since its initial offering, CPS staff have had meetings with the course instructors to get feedback to improve outcomes. We will share some of those findings and how CPS 170 will (slightly) change in light of these informal assessment efforts.
