Abstract
Background|While the occupational and physical therapy students in the geriatric interprofessional experience (IPE) are maturating as therapists, intentions of the IPE are to encourage growth personally, professionally and to meet the needs of an aging society.|By the year 2030, one in every five Americans will be over the
age of 65 (CDC, 2013). This means rehabilitation specialists are likely to care for the older adult in most practice settings.|This IPE has the potential to develop novice healthcare professionals with a better appreciation for collaborative care in meeting the needs of this growing geriatric population.|This case report describes the assessment process associated with one geriatric focused IPE.
