Abstract
Case study data were used to investigate organisational structures for information management in three state government agencies in Queensland. The structures were compared with critical success factors for information management that had been identified in a standard produced by the State's Information Policy Board. Analysis was made of issues stimulating information management structures, departments within the structures, perception of information management in the working environment, and objectives, advantages and disadvantages of the information management structure. Qualitative analysis supported the view that structures were in accord with requirements for successful information management.
