Abstract
Information systems (IS) are seen as a significant driver of environmental sustainability. This is because it can help transform an organization's operations, processes, products, and services to become environmentally friendly. To achieve this, organizations rely on different IS strategies. We examine the effect of two different IS strategies: IS innovator and IS conservative on environmental sustainability initiatives. Additionally, we concurrently look at how these IS strategy impact cybersecurity as organizations engage in sustainability initiatives. We develop hypotheses and discuss a methodology to test them. Our research contributes to IS strategy literature and has practical implications as well. © 2023 29th Annual Americas Conference on Information Systems, AMCIS 2023. All rights reserved.
