Abstract
This study examines the change in self-efficacy of lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth after involvement with a community center for LGBT youth. The potential influence of social support on self-efficacy in this population was also examined. There was no evidence of a correlation between social support (as measured by the Social Support Rating Scale) and self-efficacy. Comparison of pre-test and post-test scores on the Self-Efficacy Questionnaire for Children indicates no significant change in overall self-efficacy, but a statistically significant increase in emotional self-efficacy.
