Abstract
In many of their physical, emotional, social, and intellectual characteristics, kindergarten children show likenesses. | Physically, the five year old is at a period where growth is taking place more slowly than at any other period since birth. Не is constantly active and may do well in one motor skill and poorly in another. He readily shows fatigue from his activeness. | Emotionally, the kindergartner exhibits a great deal of stability. Не responds to a greater variety of stimuli and in a mоге controlled manner than before in his earlier years. Не is still likely to burst into joyous or furious activity־ Не has largely outgrown and overcome the jealousness and the selfishness of his earlier life. His fears have changed to new ones which generally are less intense.
