Abstract
The youth of today, the men and women of tomorrow, face problems which have long been of deepest concern among thinking people. One problem, among the many, is the development of refined sensibilities in the child living in a world of chaotic social conditions.|As a step in directing the development of these tastes and an all-round education of the child, it is extremely important that the basic educational principles which recent trends in education have emphasized be applied specifically to music education. Music is one element of primary Importance which aids extensively in brightening and unifying the child's many activities both in and out of school.|Fortunately, this is an age when the schools have made great strides in correlating music with the other subjects of the school curriculum. Consequently music teachers have been in harmony with the three objectives of educators, namely, performing, listening and creating, and have considered these as basic elements in leading the child to a joyful participation in music.
