Abstract
The title of my thesis is Carcinoma of the Cervix, which is a rather broad topic, but I will discuss and analyze 101 cases treated at St. Joseph Hospital, Omaha, between the years 1940 and 1945, inclusive. Of these cases, I could follow 67 cases completely. | About four out of every 100 women in the United States die of cancer. Carcinoma of the cervix is the second most common form of cancer in women in the United States. The mortality, including all stages and types of cancer of the cervix is still above 50 per cent. | With these facts in mind, it is obvious that an evaluation of our figures in the management of this disease is real research because this is the only means we have of comparing our method of treatment with those contained in the literature and other sources and to institute any changes in our procedure if any changes are indicated.
