Abstract
What should a young man study in college if he plans to enter the Protestant ministry?|There are many wordy arguments concerning needed changes in the theological seminary and liberal arts college in order that the student of today may become a properly trained and successful Protestant minister. As a slight contribution to the fringe of the debate, and largely to gratify a growing personal curiosity, a modest sampling was undartaken of the opinions of four hundred successful Protestant ministers as to the college training they would recommend to a candidate for the ministry.|Prom the primary class to the professional school there is a good deal of ferment in the educational world today as to Just what should constitute the curriculum. A notable instance of the raising of standards In professional education has been the more stringent work of the medical schools since the turn of the century. The higher level of professional preparation in the schools of medicine has been largely inspired by the survey work and recommendations of Abraham Flexner.
