Abstract
Doctor H. C. Struck and his co-workers in this department produced a hemolytic anemia in dogs by the administration of methylene blue. It was then desirable to know if this were a true anemia or if plasma volume shifts occurred which gave a picture of anemia while it did not actually exist. It is the purpose of this paper to determine that factor and to further test it by the study of plasma volume changes in dogs made polycythemic by the administration of concentrated erythrocytes.
