Abstract
A bank, which I will refer to as Bank A, is scheduled to close their downtown branch facility due to the proposed construction of a new office building on its present site. Bank A, having total deposits of approximately $265, 000, 000 has its main banking facility located on the edge of a downtown business district. Its Branch Facility is located three blocks away in the center of the downtown business district. | The purpose of this study is to determine the net gain or loss in revenue resulting from closing the Branch Facility. This is accomplished by: | 1) Administering a survey to determine number of customers, accounts and deposits to be lost in event that facility is closed. | 2) Valuation of accounts to be lost. | 3) Analysis of operational expenses. | 4) Cost of operations versus revenue attributed to accounts expected to be lost. | Customer preference and willingness to change are factors considered in formulating my recommendations.
