Abstract

Phosphorus is widely distributed in the earth's crust, constituting about 0.13%. Like many other reactive elements, it is never found free in nature. Phosphorus is an essential constituent of both vegetable and animal matter; thus, it is important as a component of fertilizers and feed supplements.
