Abstract
Sensitivity training in a form of laboratory training which has its roots in the group dynamics, non-directive counseling movements begun by Kurt Lenin and EIton Mayo. It has been given most attention by the National Training Laboratory in Group Development and the Human Relations Research Group at the University of California at Los Angeles. | This particular type of training has had, and still has, both its ardent supporters and its devout critics. It is a training device which is still, to a large extent, in the developmental stage. It is a frustrating, challenging, and often unpleasant training experience on the part of the participants which has emerged from the human relations or behavioral science approach to management development. | The purpose of this paper will be to examine, in some detail, this particular training process in light of its use as. a practical management development tool.
