Abstract
In nature, there are many substances called steroids. They are compounds derived from the hydrocarbon called cyclopentanoperhydrophenanthrene (1,2) . . . |These natural compounds, called steroids are oxygenated, alkylsubstituted derivatives of the above structure. The recognized members of this group are the sterols, the bile acids, the cardiac aglucons, the digitalis sapogenins, the genus of the toad poisons, certain adrenal substances, and the sex hormones.
