Abstract
One of the most interesting and authentic acts of the martyrs, and one of the few dating from the persecution of Decius, is the Passio Sanctorum Pionii, et Sociorum Ejus Martyrum. It relates the trial and imprisonment of Pionius, a priest of Smyrna, and his companions, Asclepiades; Sabina, a slave; Macedonia, a member of the Montanist sect; and Limnus, a priest. The Passio records the actual martyrdom of only Pionius and of Metrodorus a Marcionite.
