Abstract
Educators have come to realize that music is not an outside accomplishment, but a real and essential part of our educational life, and its value is not less than the values derived from the study of literature. As the appreciation of great literature refines and molds, so too the appreciation of great music has an influence on mind and character which is hardly possible to over-estimate, and it is well that our educational system is beginning again to recognize the refining character of music and to embody it in the day’s program.
