Abstract
A 37-year-old presented at 31 2/7 weeks with premature rupture of membranes. She was managed conservatively until she developed chorioamnionitis at 32 5/7 weeks. Her labor was induced and she reached 8 cm when a compound presentation was diagnosed. Because the fetal heart rate showed a category II tracing and no further descent, she underwent a low transverse c-section. At delivery the right arm and both feet had prolapsed against the fetal head with was severe edema and ecchymosis of the right arm necessitating an emergency fasciotomy due to compartment syndrome. The edema in the feet was conservatively managed and resolved spontaneously. The newborn had mild RDS, hyperbilirubinemia and feeding issues but was discharged on day 24 with complete recovery of function in the affected extremities.
