Abstract
An obituary for Bren Murphy, the teacher who died in 2021, is presented. Behind the scenes at the Organization for the Study of Communication, Language, and Gender, she led the board meetings with poise and grace even if there were difficult things to discuss. Murphy had a fierce passion for social justice, specifically Jesuit education. She engaged her students in social justice topics through her pedagogy. This panel turned into a book chapter.
