Abstract

Nurse Practitioners Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing
Introduction: Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) programs must create learning environments that foster interprofessional teamwork to prepare PMHNP students for expert roles. Interprofessional Education (IPE) activities are ideal for simulating collaborative practices. In IPE activities, students must learn to care for patients' physical and mental health needs throughout their lifespan. The institution's IPE offerings lack activities that simulate inclusive interprofessional collaboration when providing psychiatric mental health care to patients from diverse backgrounds.
