Abstract

Antibiotics Pneumonia Pulmonary arteries Respiratory distress syndrome Respiratory therapy Staphylococcus infections
All these isolates harbor SCCmec type IV that confers resistance to β-lactam anti staphylococcal antibiotics and possess Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) gene that has been associated with necrotizing pneumonia and aggressive soft tissue infections. In patients with the acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), acute right ventricular (RV) after loading secondary to increased pulmonary vascular resistance may result in acute cor pulmonale.
