Abstract
Interventional cardiology is a growing specialty, with new technologies developing. In addition to development of new interventions that can reduce the invasiveness of congenital heart procedures, there is growing interest in applying existing procedures to our smallest patients. From the first use of catheterization for neonatal intervention with the balloon atrial septostomy, there are many new and evolving therapies that can treat neonates born with congenital heart disease. © 2016 by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
