Abstract
A heterogeneous palladium catalyst, suitable for demonstrating continuous-flow, closed system gas-phase reactions in the classroom or teaching laboratories, is described. The gas reaction catalyst tube consists of an extremely thin coating of palladium atoms dispersed over a square tube-shaped ceramic support. The catalyst reaction tube can be used to demonstrate a wide variety of gas-phase reactions.
