Abstract

Ethical dilemmas Humanities Practice Relationship Scientific concepts Social work USA
Social workers are called on to help the client cope with many competing ethical actions and choices. Suggests that their help may be more effective if they go beyond the generally accepted scientific process of collecting facts, analysing data, and developing solutions. They should learn to use the understanding of the human condition that can be found in the humanities, such as literature, philosophy, art and history. (JLN)
