Inflation Bonds Go Mainstream

Journal of financial service professionals, Vol.77(4), p.16
07/01/2023

Abstract

Financial planning Inflation Investors Monetary policy
In this column, I discuss how I bonds work and demonstrate effective ways to use them. Many planners seldom deal with I bonds and thus don't know much about them. From 1990 through 2021, the average inflation rate was a bit above 2 percent, and it rarely moved above 4 percent. Inflation was under control and many investors didn't pay much attention to it. This is not the case today although it seems as if inflation is moderating.
