Abstract
Doppler velocimetry analysis was performed on 60 healthy, normotensive gravid volunteers in three different positions: sitting, supine, and left lateral decubitus. Patients were divided according to gestational age: Group I (16-24 weeks), Group II (25-32 weeks), and Group III (33-40 weeks). We found no significant difference between the three positions for the S/D ratio, the resistance index, and the pulsatility index of each group. The data suggest that maternal position during Doppler analysis may not be critical in obtaining reliable data.
