Abstract
The measurement of inclusive antiproton production at midrapidity in Au + Au collisions by Solenoid Tracker (STAR) experiment at Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) was reported. The collision centrality was determined from the measured charged particle multiplicity in the pseudorapidity range. A correction factor was applied to the raw yield to account for losses due to acceptance, tracking inefficiency and antiproton absorption in the detector. The antiproton transverse mass distributions were found to fall less steeply for central collisions. Fourteen net protons per unit rapidity at midrapidity were obtained from extrapolation of the yields.
