Abstract
The practical consequences of Max L. Margolis' belief that Jewish scholars and Bible scholarship can and should coexist in a mutually beneficial relationship are examined. Margolis has dealt with the issue of the Bible's role within Judaism, the role of the Bible scholar within the Jewish community and the role of the Jewish scholar with Bible scholars.
