Abstract
Research has been conducted on the hypothesis that the direct adaptation to a stressor can preadapt organisms to the stressful environments. The study of Escherichia coli six lines propagated at a stressful temperature has been carried out and the results have not demonstrated useful preadaptation to these types of environment.
