Abstract
This issue inaugurates Project Publius: Papers in Defense of the American Constitution, introducing the project's purpose and parameters alongside its first essay. Drawing on the tradition of Publius and Lincoln's charge that a "government of the People, by the People, and for the People shall not perish from the earth," the series invites thoughtful, creative constitutional defense for a broad civic readership.
