Abstract
There are many important tasks and questions in order to improve outcomes of elderly burn patients. Due to the complexity of these tasks we the Board of Trustees agreed to form a permanent committee on elderly burn care. This committee has an interest in the care of elderly that within the committee will assign tasks as well as coordinate efforts of investigators with the goal to improve outcomes and quality of life in elderly burn patients. The committee will review the progress and will request to collect more data by accessing the National Burn Registry, in conjunction with creating novel and elderly specific databases and registries. The committee also reaches out to create strong collaborations, for example, ISBI and other stakeholders. The committee feels there is a lot of work that needs to be done as the information on elderly burn care is vague and lacking good substantial data. © 2020 Oxford University Press.
