Abstract
The identification of patients wih hereditary breast cancer requires highly targeted surveillance/management programs. The distinct clinical characteristics of hereditary breast cancer enable physicians to employ preventive and/or remedial measures of maximum effectiveness. The assembly of breast cancer prone kindreds in a carefully designed registry, with identifying data on genetic risk factors in all members of the respective kindreds, if made available to physicians nationally, could aid immeasurably in control of this life threatening disease.
