Abstract
Politicization of the term "genocide" has weakened its legal impact, yet the discord among the governments of the United States and Sudan over this term as applied in Sudan's Darfur Region that is reflected in the discord among the U.N. Security Council and various chambers of the International Criminal Court could lead to more clarity as applied.
