Abstract
Liturgies at St John’s try to capture the passion of St. Ignatius, who placed at the foundation of the spiritual life to give praise, reverence and thanks to God. Intensive preparation and prayer go into the major celebrations, especially the Triduum feasts and the Mass of the Holy Spirit (pictured above) to bring together all members of the Creighton and St John’s community in a spirit of gratitude, welcome, and mission. The Mass at St John’s is where the People of God receive the wisdom, sustenance, and fellowship to then go forth and make the world– in G M Hopkins’, phrase— “charged with God’s grandeur.” The celebration of Eucharist at St. John’s takes seriously Vatican II’s mandate to have “full and active participation of the laity.”
