Abstract
The Heart Ministry Center is located at 22nd and Binney Street across from Sacred Heart School and in close proximity to Blessed Sacrament School, the Jesuit Middle School, and the Omaha Street School. The Center serves some of the city’s poorest citizens with 30% of the households living under the poverty line.The Health Ministry Clinic provides an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to health care. Not unlike many other undertakings at Creighton, this establishes a venue for students and faculty from many disciplines to work together to provide care and services. Expertise from a variety of disciplines (Nursing, Pharmacy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Dentistry, Social Work, and Medicine) is essential for comprehensive, compassionate, and competent care. Current services include clinic hours for acute medical needs, sports physicals, vaccinations, health screenings, preventative health services, accessing social services, health education sessions, diet monitoring and dental services, plus partnering with schools to provide health care services and education.
