Abstract
The purpose of this critically appraised topic is to disseminate the effectiveness of fall prevention programs and interventions aimed to decrease fall risk for older adult populations ages 50 years and older. Inclusion criteria for articles consist of populations of older adults 50 years of age or older, peer-reviewed research articles published from 2010 to 2021, intervention and outcomes related to the focused question, interventions that fall within or outside occupational therapy scope of practice, and written in English. A thorough literature review and evidence table were completed. Articles included in the evidence table provide level I evidence and published within the past six years. Results indicate strong evidence for the use of multifactorial interventions for fall prevention with older adults. Further research related to multifactorial programs is warranted.
