Abstract
A critical appraisal of 6 articles was completed to analyze present research on the effectiveness of community-based programs on increasing health and wellness of individuals living in poverty. Critical appraisal consisted of identifying a focus question, locating present articles related to the topic, completing a literature search table, and compiling an evidence table. Results indicate effectiveness of community-based programs on the heath and wellness of individuals living in poverty, but that more research needs to be done on the topic before influencing policy or further program development.
