Expertise

Kian Maleki's research interests lie in theoretical condensed matter physics, where he collaborates closely with experimentalists. For the past several years, his primary focus has been on understanding the fundamental principles of transport through molecules and various types of defects. This research involves exploring how electrons move through atomic and molecular structures, which is a critical area for advancements in fields such as molecular electronics and quantum computing.

Beyond transport phenomena, he works on crystal fields, exchange, and dipolar interactions, as well as noncollinear magnons. His investigations in this area contribute to a deeper understanding of magnetic materials and their potential applications.

His current interest lies in the emerging field of quantum geometry, and he hopes to utilize his background in geometry to discover novel properties in quantum materials.
