Expertise

I have several research interests that all relate to using what we know from cognitive science research in real world applications. For example, I investigate how research on memory and learning can be used to design better curricula and shape pedagogical practice. I also conduct classic cognitive psychology research in word processing and memory. I use the megastudy approach in which participants complete tasks on a very large number of items. Data from these megastudies are publicly available for other to use. Finally, I also have examined how executive functioning develops and changes based on life experience and how these developing executive functions enable children to build their reading and memory skills.
